Here are some things that I’ve come to believe about this industry.

Integration can sound complex, but it’s all just about people.

I’m a strategist, a team builder, a client partner, and a driver of growth. Though all of that, I have developed an expertise in marketing integration at scale.

I have both built and led large, complex, bespoke marketing agency teams for some of the biggest global clients, integrating multiple disciplines from creative and strategy, to media and PR, to technology and production. I’ve also integrated teams across multiple countries and regions, so I understand all of the cross-cultural complexity and nuance that requires.

And what I’ve come to realize is that the key to integration isn’t tools, processes, incentives, or organizational structures: it’s ultimately just about people.

What I enjoy most professionally is bringing together diverse groups of people to solve complex business problems, creating the conditions for exceptional creativity and innovation, and making the space for people to surprise themselves, and each other, by challenging conventional wisdom and exceeding their own expectations.

Creativity is a force multiplier for business growth.

With every industry and category being reinvented and disrupted, creative thinking - for marketing, for customer experience, for innovation, for business models - is needed today more than ever. Over my career I’ve developed a deep understanding of how to drive creative problem solving in organizations, and how great creativity leverages culture, technology, media, data, and human behaviour. I’ve used that understanding to create effective campaigns, successful brands, and profitable teams.

Global leaders need global experience

I’ve built & led agency teams on five continents. And not just from a head office: I’ve lived and worked on the ground in Asia, EMEA, Canada, and in multiple regions of the US.

My extensive global experience helps me understand how to lead complex global business and brands. It’s also taught me how to get the best out of diverse teams across multiple countries, cultures, and working/communication styles.

And most of all, it has taught me how to manage through influence, integrity, openness, and trust. I’ve learned to listen for nuance, context, humanity, and what is not said. And from this varied experience I’ve developed the ability to succeed, thrive, and lead in environments of complexity, ambiguity and change.
